What Decides the Cost of a Website?
What actually drives the price of a website, what you get at each level, and how to avoid paying for things you don't need.
"How much does a website cost?" is the first question almost every client asks, and the honest answer is: it depends on what the site has to do. Here's what drives the cost, so you know what to ask for before you talk to anyone.
What Drives the Price
The number of pages matters less than people think. Price is driven by how much has to be designed from scratch, how much content needs writing or translating, and how much the site has to do: booking, payments, accounts, integrations.
Rough Levels
- A one-page site: a clear, fast page that explains what you do and how to reach you. Our Starter and Launch packages are made for this.
- A small business site: a handful of pages, a contact form, basic SEO. This is our Business package.
- A custom site: a bespoke design, more pages, multiple languages and a stronger SEO foundation. We quote these individually.
- An online shop: products, checkout and payments. This is our Commerce package.
Costs People Forget
Domain, hosting, email, and keeping the site updated after launch. These are small, but they add up, so ask about them up front. We bundle hosting, updates and backups into one monthly Care plan.
Where Not to Save
Cheap templates often cost more later: slow pages, generic design and code nobody wants to touch. Spend on a solid build and real content; skip the extras until you know you need them.
