When a Custom Dashboard Beats a Spreadsheet

Spreadsheets are great until they aren't. The signs it's time for a custom dashboard, and what one can do for your team.

Almost every business runs on spreadsheets at some point, and that's fine. But there's a moment when the spreadsheet starts running the business instead. That's usually when a custom dashboard pays for itself.

Signs You've Outgrown the Spreadsheet

  • Several versions: nobody is sure which copy is the right one.
  • Copy and paste: someone spends hours each week moving data from one place to another.
  • Broken formulas: one wrong click and the totals are off.
  • Access problems: everyone either sees everything or nothing.

What a Dashboard Changes

A dashboard is a small web app built around how your team actually works. Data comes in automatically from the tools you already use, everyone sees the same live numbers, and each person only sees what they need.

Typical Uses

Orders and stock, bookings and capacity, sales and leads, or a client portal where your customers check their own status. Charts update by themselves, and reports can arrive by email every Monday.

Start Small

You don't need to replace everything at once. Start with the one sheet that causes the most work or the most mistakes, turn it into a simple dashboard, and grow from there.
